Yet another movie I rented based upon the fact it's supposed to be a classic.
The Plot: Based upon a true story, a guy gets thrown into a Turkish prison for trying to smuggle hashish out of the country.
Notable: Directed by Oliver Stone and the co-star is a very lean and very young Randy Quaid.
Why the name?: The only way to get out of prison is the Midnight Express - a name for "escape" - but as one of the characters says, "It doesn't run through here."
Lead actor trivia: A guy named Brad Davis was the star and did a great job. A little research revealed that he took his own life in the 1990s by assisted suicide after contracting AIDS.
Overall rating: Outstanding.
