Random Thursday Morning Thoughts

He actually made the news yesterday in a less sensational way. See below.

  • The story doesn't exactly say it, but he sounds like he met the girl online and then went to East Texas to meet her.  He was ambushed with an AR-15.

  • I hope Elon doesn't kill these guys. Edit: He hasn't. Yet. The ten minute "walk" has been successfully completed this morning.

  • Random image from current fires in California -- a state which always seems to be burning.

  • They actually think this is a good idea?

  • "A court-appointed receiver . . .  asked the court in July to have constables escort him to Peterson’s home in the Houston suburb of Missouri City so that he could document the assets that could be sold off. The Texas court approved that request Monday."

  • In reality, no juror should ever be "convinced beyond a reasonable doubt" that the "shaken baby science" is believable, but once they make a decision that they do, it's next to impossible to stop the legal machinery of death in Texas.  Story.

  • That mass shooting was way back in 2019, and the D.A.'s office, which has already had a wholesale turnover, is going to screw that up before all is said and done.  But considering that that the feds already stepped in and achieved "90 consecutive life sentences", what's really the point?

  • Fringe political quick hits:
    • Let's check in on the Fox Business Channel yesterday.

    • Crazy Marjorie Taylor Greene is fighting online with crazy Laura Loomer (who Trump has been hanging out with lately.)

    • JD Vance kind of looks like killer John Wayne Gacy. Right?

  • The Business Second.™ You'll see this headline a lot today, but what's the big deal? The name is changing from the "Campbell's Soup Company" to just "The Campbell’s Company." But the iconic can has just had "Campbell's" at the top of the can in script for decades.

  • I'm not real sure what this means.

  • Overnight, the PAC-12 announced that it is trying to become a bad movie sequel.
