- Random notes on the death of Jimmy Carter: (1) He was last Democrat to win the state of Texas in a presidential election, and (2) before yesterday, the last past Democratic president to die was LBJ in 1973.

- There was blood in the Military Bowl. A stolen towel started it all. (Video)
- The Pop-Tarts Bowl has lots of great bits, but the painted sprinkles on the sidelines was one of my favorites.
