It was notable not only for the comeback, but the fact that Baylor's kicker almost got killed after a blocked field goal. (Video)
- Breaking. He also opened fire on police after driving through the crowd. It happened around 3:15 a.m. The mayor specifically called it a "terrorist attack" at the first press conference at 6:30 a.m. The police chief then said is was "intentional" and "not a DUI situation."
- Texas plates in that photo. There seems to be some type of flag connected to the trailer hitch.
- First video of the aftermath shows a bad and graphic scene. On this other video, you can see people react to the gunfire which can be heard.
- Of course, it's normally crowded there even in the wee hours, but the Sugar Bowl between Georgia and Notre Dame is set to play there tonight.
- Four person fatality DWI crash last night as people were changing a tire in Mesquite on I-20. Fox4Terry was on the scene.
- Dallas ended the year in a less than ideal fashion.
- I'm not sure why they went to the trouble of even doing this.
- If this is the reason, Zeke and Jerry must have both been drunk on NYE by noon.
- KLTY is no more as Salem Radio wants to focus on conservative talk (like they have on 660 - The Answer) instead of Christian music. Of course, nothing says Christian-like more than angry right wing talk shows.
- When I first started practicing law, the entire bar was scared to death of filing frivolous pleadings -- much less those that contained outright lies. But, once again, nothing seems to matter anymore. Story.
- Ken Paxton is going on a self-described "tour" because he thinks he's some kind of political rock star. (This is all about the weird issue of letting a few Texas House committees be chaired by Democrats -- something which seems to be a life or death issue to ultra-MAGA. Below, I think he means "of incumbents" instead of "with incumbents".)
- Legal stuff:
- If we could only pinpoint something that, or someone who, changed everything in America.
- Collin County DWI stats.
- A very detailed story about this guy. It doesn't make a lot of sense.
- If this is true, he'd be a fool not to take it. When it's all said and done, it might be more than he ever makes in his NFL career (which I predict to be very, very short.)
- THWMISB™.
A big air disaster overseas happened 10 years a go as well.
- Two things: (1) Who has $40,000 worth of stuff in their car, and (2) who in the world physically possesses "computer software" these days?
- This occurred last night at the Shoot Smart gun range in the Alliance area in north Fort Worth.
- Seems concerning. One of these days, the whole Internet is going to shut down.
- Speaking of, even Texas' top law enforcement office can't keep its computer systems up. If only the $350,000 Man were still working to keep this from happening. Their offices are closed today and tomorrow for the holidays, so we won't know if the systems are back up until Thursday.
- I've said it before: Soon we will see a major airline disaster in the U.S. which will occur just like this one almost did: On a runway. This incident was actually caught on video by some guys who livestream takeoffs and landings at LAX every weekend.
- All the crime stories these days seem to involve teens.
- This brazen theft is incredible, although I seriously question the $600,000 figure. Video.
- I don't think she has to "file" anything, but it checks out that she would at least be eligible for parole after 30 years.
- I'm not sure how this Two Act Play is going to work out.
- They are still arresting people even though Trump promises to pardon the Insurrectionists.
- And the lead prosecutor of those January 6th Insurrectionists is stepping down. (That's not unusual. All U.S. Attorneys appointed by a president of a different political party resign when there is a presidential change.)
- As of midnight tonight, Wise County literally has a new sheriff in town.
- A murder suspect was chased down I-35W on Saturday, got into a wreck around Heritage Trace in North Fort Worth, and then shot himself. The freeway was then shut down for hours.
- Yet another airline crash. The fact this was a Boeing plane seems to escape most of the headlines. I'm sure you have seen the video.
- Say what?
- The Tarrant County Sheriff has killed another.
- Exposure? Obviously we have a government cover-up going on here.
- Elon Musk discovered that ultra-MAGA doesn't want any immigration, legal or otherwise.
- After calling his critics "retards", "subtards", "fools", and much worse, he then got dogpiled and begged everyone to back off:
- This story didn't get a lot of attention over the holidays.
- Obituary news:
- Random notes on the death of Jimmy Carter: (1) He was last Democrat to win the state of Texas in a presidential election, and (2) before yesterday, the last past Democratic president to die was LBJ in 1973.
- Everyone seems to have liked this guy.
- RIP, but Alice was one bad show.
- Bowl highlights:
- There was blood in the Military Bowl. A stolen towel started it all. (Video)
- The Pop-Tarts Bowl has lots of great bits, but the painted sprinkles on the sidelines was one of my favorites.
- A long, but always funny, Dave Barry's "Year in Review" from the Washington Post via a gift link. A little final holiday reading.
